FUE VS FUT Choosing The procedure That’s Right For You

Sep 04 2018

Congratulations!

You are finally embarking on the journey of hair restoration! Deciding to finally take action with your hair loss is the hardest step. Now that you have that out of the way, other questions often begin to surface.

The number one question we get at Beverly Hills Hair Restoration is 'how do I decide which procedure is right for me?'

There are two types of hair transplant procedures; Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE), and Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT). Both procedures are fantastic and choosing the one that is right for you is based on your goals and lifestyle.

FUE

FUE procedures are great for individuals who like to wear their hair short. This procedure involves making tiny incisions in the back of the scalp (donor area) and extracting the hair follicles one by one.

(Immediately After Procedure )                                  (Ten Days Post-procedure)

FUT

Although FUT procedures are typically less expensive, that does not mean that they deliver subpar results. FUT procedures are excellent for individuals who like to wear their hair long and have a limited donor area and could benefit from the 'more bang for your buck' approach. FUT procedures involve taking a small strip of tissue from on ear to another and extracting that hair follicles from that strip.

Now I know what you're thinking, 'No way am I subjecting myself to that huge scar in the back of my head!' However, when you go to an experienced surgeon, just like Award-Winning Surgeon Dr. John Kahen, the linear incision is so minuscule that no one will be able to see it with the naked eye.

So the question isn't 'which procedure is better' the question is 'which procedure is right for me and will satisfy my goals?'

Be sure to do your research on the procedures and listen to the recommendations of your doctor.

No matter which procedure is right for you, your results will be phenomenal none the less! We are so excited that you have begun taking steps to restore your hair!
